We haven't made it to these places yet-- but we can't wait to go and share details with you all!
1) Turtle Back Zoo in West Orange, NJ (Essex County). My toddler, like most, loves animals! We can't wait to make a trek up to this zoo to meet our cousins as we peruse alligators, bears, giraffes and more! We also love choo-choo trains and apparently this zoo has a little train we can ride! There's also a playground, pony rides AND a carousel! SO much more than your average zoo! Expected costs: Adults $19 Kids 2-12 $16
2) Storybook Land, Egg Harbor Township, NJ (Atlantic County) I remember going to Storybook Land as a little kid. I have distinct memories of the Alice in Wonderland section and I'd love to see if the super sized cards are still there as I remember them! There are lots of great little family rides and storybook themed houses. I also hear that it's mostly shaded which is nice if you go on a warm day! Expected Costs: Tickets are $32.95. Kids under 2 are free.
3) Tiny Town, Metuchen, NJ (Middlesex County) This little indoor play center has a set-up that looks like a little town and I think that is so darn cute! There isn't a lot of info on it online so I'm hoping to check it out and share some pictures. Expected Costs: $20 buys your child a two hour time slot.
4) Six Flags Safari, Jackson, NJ (Ocean County) I'm not sure if we would venture in the theme park, but we definitely would like to drive through the safari. We used to go to Great Adventure on the last day of school for years! It was a family tradition. It's been a long time since I have visited but as I mentioned above, animals are a sure-fire hit for us so it makes the list! Expected Costs: $24.99 per adult, $14.99 per child.
5) Diggerland, West Berlin, NJ (Camden County). My brother recently brought his family here and raved about it! My toddler loves big trucks and I can imagine his big toothy grin right now if we were to go to Diggerland! I found the following note on their website: All guests visiting Diggerland 36″ and over are required to purchase an admission ticket. Non-participating guests over 65 years in age and guests under 36″ are free. Looks like you want to make sure your little one is 36" BEFORE you come check out the park for the first time-- just because they will be able to do so much more! Expected costs: $45.95 a ticket for those 36" tall and above. But if Grandma doesn't want to drive a truck, she gets to come for free!
