9 Diggerland Tips for New Visitors

I wanted to squeeze in a fun adventure before school started and along with our cousins, selected Diggerland!  I was holding off on Diggerland for a while because I wanted to be sure my son was well over 36 inches tall before going.  Check out my list of takeaways from Diggerland below to learn more about the 36 inch rule and my other big discoveries from our awesome day there.

  1. You really should wait until your little one is at least 36 inches tall before you decide to come to Diggerland.  Kids under that height have a few attractions available to them but it’s sad to watch kids get excited about something and then they can’t ride.  Once they are 36 inches, there’s a ton of fun for them at Diggerland.  My little guy hit 36 inches closer to 3 years old, but your 2 year old may already be that height.  Get your measuring tape out!

  2. Diggerland is in a lot of direct sunlight!  There are some shaded areas but you are going to need sunscreen for this one!  Also– WATER!

  3. Order lunch early through the app!  Lunchtime is busy at the counters, but if you scan the QR code at The Lunch Pail, you can order lunch from your phone and ride and play right up until your food is ready!

  4. No outside food is allowed!  Clean out those bags before you get there.  I lost a lot of my protein bar stock that day when I had to get rid of them at the gate.

  5. The waits weren’t bad at all.  We were there the Saturday of Labor Day weekend and I have to say, I expected to wait a LOT LONGER for attractions.  This was a huge bonus!

  6. Get there when the main park opens at noon– or if you are also doing the water park, arrive when that opens at 10a (we didn’t do the waterpark on this trip).  There’s a lot to do here and the park isn’t open late so make the most of your time!

  7. Be prepared to drive!  A lot of the attractions will require you to operate the vehicles yourself while your little one is on your lap.  You share the same seatbelt and seat so keep that in mind!  This was fun and makes for cute pictures!

  8. You need to exit through the gift shop.  We all know how kids are in gift shops!  You are warned! (The gift shop is also where they have printed park maps if you don't want to eat up phone battery looking at the map on their site!)

  9. Getting ready to buy tickets?  We found a great discount only available on Facebook so don’t forget to eyeball your social media for any promotions they may be running!

I hope these takeaways help you when you plan your trip.  I expect Fall to be a perfect time for a trip to this theme park!  Enjoy!
