A Happy Night at Jenkinson's Boardwalk

When I was in high school, I used to work in the water gun stand. So I know the Point Pleasant Boardwalk VERY well. The whole place is well maintained and perfect for families. When we just want a beach day, we opt for the quieter sands of Lavalette Beach, but when you want a Boardwalk experience good for little kids, Point is the place.

My whole family melts easy in the heat so I was watching the weather for a good time to go. I wanted to do a weeknight so we would miss the crowds that come on the weekends, but also a cooler night so we could enjoy being out and about. Mother Nature hooked it up and on a random Tuesday we found the perfect conditions for a great night on the boards!

We probably could have just walked up and down the boardwalk and our little guy would have been super happy to just enjoy the people watching! Lots of noises, colors, smells and little kids running around! We brought his stroller and had an easy time maneuvering wherever we had to go. We also pre-purchased ride cards around Easter (pro-tip-- Jenkinson's does a great Easter sale and if you plan on doing the rides that season it IS worth buying your ride cards that far in advance) so we were able to hop right on the little train as a family. Our one year old has ridden trains before but it's been a while. After that, we hopped over to Martell's to grab something to eat before we tried other ride experiences with the bubs.

After dinner, and watching a few games (the baby loves the noises the boardwalk games made) we headed back to the rides to see what he was brave enough for. Turns out he was able to go on a lot! He rode the carousel with Mommy along with the truck convoy. Then, by himself, he rode the firetrucks and the boats. The boats were the big winner of the day, but we think it was because it was his last ride and he felt more comfortable by then. Soon after, we left because it was a week night! Mommy and Daddy didn't want to stray too far from the bedtime routine!

We had a great time bringing our boy for the first of many boardwalk trips! I'm sure we will be back again on another cooler Monday or Tuesday night this summer. I'm looking forward to seeing that smile on those boats in person again!
