Enjoying a Little Christmas In July

I LOVE it when a local small business is running special events for kids.  Big corporations get enough of our money, so when a mom & pop shop goes out of their way to serve the local littles, I am MORE THAN HAPPY to support the initiative.

We recently attended a Christmas in July event offered by Colonial Bakery in Lavalette.  This sweet event included a book reading by a local author, a signed copy of her book “Beach Santa,” coloring pages, a meet and greet with Santa (in his vacation garb!) and a donut decorating kit to take home and create your own Christmas in July donut!  It was a perfect little event for a drizzly Tuesday morning in the summer.

Colonial Bakery is run by a mom who has two littles herself so it was no surprise to see such a cute little event pop up there.  The afternoon was well attended and Colonial Bakery is always packed with such fantastic treats.  Their themed cookies are always a big hit with the beach-going kiddos (you can get flip-flop cookies or even a crab cookie) so we ended up buying a few extra treats while we were there.  I’m a huge fan of their crumb cakes with berry filling and JUST WAIT until you see their summer themed cakes with full on beach decor!

While this was a one-off event, we suspect they will be doing another one soon!  Watch out on their socials (FACEBOOK HERE, INSTAGRAM HERE) for other event announcements.

If you are looking for other ways to squeeze in Christmas in July fun before we turn the corner into August, check out Casino Pier in Seaside Heights on July 27th from 1p-5pm.   They’ll be doing photos with Santa and holding meet and greets with other Holiday Friends as well!  For Casino Pier’s full Christmas in July event schedule, CLICK HERE.
