I’m not crazy about being out in the sun all day. My son and I are fair skinned which makes me a lotion fanatic and all we need to do is be out in the sun for 20 minutes and my little guy is dripping in sweat with bright red hot cheeks. So on those super hot days when everyone is headed to the beach, we’re happy to find a temperature controlled environment somewhere. Need a great day or weekend trip that WON’T require an army’s worth of sunscreen?
There are a TON of great attractions at this mall that your family will LOVE. You actually won’t even be able to do them all in a single day even if you tried! Here’s a list of my favorite family friendly attractions to select from!
Sea Life Aquarium. While not nearly as big at the Adventure Aquarium in Camden, this is still a really fun experience. I really enjoyed the decor and lighting. It creates a great vibe and ambience as you check out all the fishies! This aquarium was definitely better than I expected from a mall aquarium experience.
Legoland Discovery Center. I was shocked at how fun this was. I was expecting a glorified store with a few interactive elements and it is so much more than that! First off, they have an actual RIDE in there. Second, they have costume character meet and greets! Add to that building stations, a HUGE lego city, a little race car test track and a play area and you have a great stop for your family!
Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park. There’s a bunch of fun kiddie rides here to enjoy if your little one has hit 36”. Even if they haven’t, I suggest popping over to see the Paw Patrol show and getting a glimpse of those amazing characters! Not spending a ton of time here? Just buy some points and pay per ride and you won’t even have to pay extra to see the little show!
Angry Birds Mini Golf. Toddlers can be hilarious at golf– just go loose on those rules and let groups that go faster play through. There’s a black light mini golf course available in the mall as well.
Toys R US Train. Yes there is a TOYS R US in the mall that is sure to make your nostalgic heart so happy. It’s also fun to ride the Toys R Us train around the mall to check out all the stores. Just note that you do need to purchase tickets to ride the train and you are going to wish the ride was a bit longer for the cost.
DreamWorks WaterPark. For the little ones you can check out the Lazy River, HUGE wave pool and play on the Temple of Awesomeness Play Structure. Once they hit 36” they can also check out the slides in the Penguin Fun Zone and other slides at the Temple of Awesomeness.
Tilt 3D Art Experience. Have fun checking out the art and posing for silly pictures! This is a silly and playful way to interact with your family.
Mirror Maze. A classic experience for young and old! Make sure your toddler doesn’t try to run thru too fast or they are sure to hit a mirror face first!
IMuseum. Another great photo experience where you can explore interactive rooms themed on different emotions.
Bubble Planet. Jump into a giant family ball pit and more in this installation of interactive fun.
For the bigger kids, American Dream is also home to Big Snow (indoor skiing/snowboarding), an Ice Rink, a 7D ride experience, interactive game rooms, escape rooms and the monster Dream Wheel Ferris Wheel with views of NYC. On top of all that, the venue is filled with stores to do a little shopping in between all of the fun and plenty of great places to eat. Save some money by checking out Dream Passes and Bundles. Most attractions at the mall are cashless so prepare accordingly!
And did I mention that EVERYTHING is air conditioned? It’s a worthy add to your summer list!
