Our Must-Do Splurge At Sesame Place

Elmo might be one of the most loveable children’s characters to have ever existed.  My little guy has always been a fan of the sweet and cuddly monster and we’ve already took a few trips to Sesame Place because of it.  Parades, shows, rides and Elmo?  Sounds PERFECT to us!  Each time we go, though, we build our trip around our favorite Sesame Place splurge— DINE WITH ELMO AND FRIENDS.

DINE WITH ELMO AND FRIENDS is a character meal experience that is a MUST-DO for us.  My toddler enjoys meeting costumed characters, but like most kids his age, he isn’t a fan of waiting in line.  Combine that with the need to take a break to eat anyway and you have the ultimate toddler hack for fun that also feels a bit like a break for mom and dad.  Oh and on top of that, everyone gets fed!

The venue feels a bit like a grade school cafeteria which doesn’t cause you to expect much from the food but it is SURPRISINGLY YUMMY.  There are lots of food choices and kid-friendly options no matter the meal time you select and the food seems more like restaurant quality than your typical theme park fare.

After everyone gets a chance to make a plate (the meal is served buffet style and you are welcome to go back for seconds!), the characters make their way from table to table to greet the young guests and take pictures with your family.  Pictures are followed by a short show so the kids can dance along with beloved Sesame regulars like Big Bird, Abby and more.  Elmo is always there but please note that the other characters switch out.

Whether you are visiting during hot summer days or cooler fall temps, this experience is worth the extra money and creates a nice break during a busy park day!  Pricing varies per day but during busy times you are likely looking at $29.99 for kids and $49.99 for adults.  23 months and under are FREE though and those ELMO cupcakes are usually a big hit with all ages!

We’ll be headed back soon and I will be looking forward to getting another round of pics with our favorite Sesame Place buddies without losing ride time by waiting in a line.  Let us know if you check it out and what your experience is like!
