There are few things that will grab my attention on social media quicker than baby farm animals. Couple that with an opportunity to love on one? Ok, you have me! That is exactly how my family and I ended up visiting Chubby Goat Farmhouse in New Egypt.
Owned by former Point Pleasant residents, Chubby Goat Farmhouse is a peaceful little farm oasis just an easy drive away from the shore. The farm is home to a menagerie of goats, a deaf llama, chickens, and their newest star resident, a baby cow named Gracie!
Owner Amy Bellis is also a cookie entrepreneur. She has been selling her creations and teaching cookie decorating classes for quite some time– and she found herself building her farm dream life on a lovely piece of property in New Egypt.
Chubby Goat Farmhouse has been a privately owned and enjoyed property but Amy is now happy to open up this farm oasis to visitors and learning experiences! She is currently offering sunset visits complete with animal meet and greets a few times a month to visitors young and old. Myself, my three year old and my parents enjoyed chatting with Amy and learning about her learning process of building a farm. We loved hearing about her farm life discoveries and enjoyed all of the stories about how her farm crew came to be!
Our sunset visit was a lovely experience. The weather was perfect and the animals were very entertaining. The goats have hilarious personalities and come running when Amy shakes the treat bag. We all took turns giving the animals their treats. Even the baby cow came running over to be involved. Amy then took out the baby cow out for a special close-up visit and we had the opportunity to brush and pet her up close. Gracie the cow was very sweet and patient and stood happily while we loved on her and took pictures.
Chubby Goat Farm will be hosting classes and events in the upcoming months in addition to these sunset visits. Make sure you find them on their socials (Facebook: Chubby Goat Farmhouse, Insta @chubbygoatfarmhouse), and if you get the chance– go visit sweet baby Gracie for your own special sunset visit.
