Since we live close and buy those buy one get one ride cards from Jenks during their yearly Easter sale (read about that HERE), we often visit Jenkinson's boardwalk. In the words of Alanis Morissette, "it's a free ride, if you've already paid." A while back I noticed some advertising for some free events on the boardwalk coming up and decided to check out one that worked with our schedule. It was for a short animal show on the beach right across from the Aquarium.
I'm not sure what company presented the show (a local animal rescue likely), but we LOVED sitting on the beach learning about special guest animals that joined families for some fun. The host was funny and clever as he introduced a skunk and a wallaby to the crowd. We were a bit late sitting down so we missed the first animal. I think it was a porcupine or a headgehog.
Jenkinson's offers a whole variety of free extra events during the summer and they are worth checking out. If your family frequents the boardwalk, or even if you don't, these events are great ways to make your night out even more special--and many of them are FREE. Coming up at Jenkinson's they have Christmas in July events where you can take a photo with Santa or hear a story told by Mrs. Claus. You can catch fireworks every Thursday night, or your can dine with Princesses or hear a story told by one on Fridays! On July 31st there will be more animal shows and if it's not too hot, we'll be back for that one as well.
