Which Boardwalk is BETTER for Toddlers? Jenks or Casino Pier?

There are a lot of great Jersey Shore experiences for young families and the boardwalks have long been a popular go-to. So which boardwalk is better for toddlers? Jenkinsons in Point or Casino Pier in Seaside?

Both boardwalks have similar attractions.

1) Rides. Both places have kiddie rides available and some thrill rides for the older adventurers in your group.

2) Games. Both places have a large variety of games of chance and arcade games. We love the "play until you win" crane games!

3) Food. Both boardwalks are plentiful in boardwalk fare. You'll find plenty of french fries, ice cream and funnel cakes!

4) Views. Both boardwalks are right on the beach and therefore give you those classic ocean views!

5) Merchandise. You'll find shops with souvenirs, towels and toys at both places.

6) Mini Golf. Both places have classic mini golf options!

7) Fun house. Both places have fun houses although the Jenkinson's Fun House is bigger.

8) Special Free events during the summer.

So what are the major differences when it comes to the locations?

JENKINSONS

1) Has an adorable aquarium so you can get inside out of the heat and enjoy sharks, fishies, seals and MORE. It's not that big but it is a great way to spend an hour with a toddler.

2) Parking is easier! There is a huge lot across from the boardwalk with easy paid parking and also a smaller lot right night to the ride area with premium paid parking.

3) They have Fireworks every Thursday night in the summer.

4) They offer Princess storytime and dining with Princesses! We haven't been because my son isn't into princesses, but I think this is a great perk!

CASINO PIER

1) Is large! If you are looking to get your steps in while walking the boardwalk, the Seaside Boardwalk is simply larger. It offers more food options, arcade options and shops sheerly due to it's size.

2) Adult beverages everywhere! If you are in a party with a lot of adults, this boardwalk has significantly more bars.

4) Breakwater Beach is a water park right next door to the boardwalk! Point Pleasant doesn't have anything like it.

Can you have a fun family day or night in either location? Absolutely. So which would I pick?

For me, Jenks will win this battle right now. When venturing with a toddler, bigger isn't always better. Jenks may be smaller, but we still have plenty to do there. The kiddie rides on Casino Pier seem a bit older and not quite as well maintained as they are in Jenkinson's and my little guy adores the train that drives visitors around the ride park. When traveling with a toddler, bar time isn't even on the schedule so we don't take advantage of the large number of places on the Seaside Boardwalk. We're also not doing a lot of water parks at this age and LOVE the Aquarium at Jenks-- putting it in the lead for us when it comes to toddler friendly locations.

Depending on who is in your party for a given outing, your selection may be different. As your children get older and new developments happen, our preference may change as well. The good news is-- there isn't a BAD choice. Both properties are packed with summer fun and memory making potential!

Agree? Disagree? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
